[DTRASH187] TWILIGHT ABYSS - Astral Plane

[DTRASH187] TWILIGHT ABYSS - Astral Plane
TWILIGHT ABYSS was the black metal output and culmination of cross-genre collaborations between Defiler and Abhorrent (ACID ENEMA, SANGRE). While previous collaborative efforts melded hardcore/speedcore with death and black metal (Destined to Fail, Pyrrhon), TWILIGHT ABYSS would be a strictly true black metal production. Originally self-released as a demo CDr (100 copies only), 'Astral Plane' has remained largely hidden since 2003, now sees official release through D-TRASH.

[DTRASH179] BETAPHENETHYLAMINE - Outward Spiral

[DTRASH179] BETAPHENETHYLAMINE : Outward Spiral
The first full-length release of BETAPHENETHYLAMINE is an uncompromising 77 minutes of unrelenting abrasion and brutality interspersed with moments of bleak atmosphere and catchy songwriting in a way that is at the same time varied and natural. Digital hardcore, metal, industrial, noise and pop elements combine to create something which is none of these things. It is a dark look at the modern digital age and our ever growing relationship with technology.

[DTRASH169] THE FIRST SEED & CHIC GALA - Free Prostitute

THE FIRST SEED & CHIC GALA - Free Prostitute
With "Free Prostitute", THE FIRST SEED presents 8 super charged electronic beats featuring the vocal colorings and lyrical stylings of 2012's most dangerous songstress: CHIC GALA. Following the recent release of her debut album "Inside The Ember Palace", this collection of songs showcases a much darker, more aggressive side of the performer. With tracks reminiscent of ATARI TEENAGE RIOT and CRYSTAL CASTLES on speed, the two definitely give the digital hardcore genre their own Southern Ontario dirty underground spin. With lyrical topics ranging from socio-political strife to the pain of getting your wisdom teeth removed and of course love(/obsession), THE FIRST SEED exchanges vocal and lyrical duties on almost all the songs giving the delivery a dynamic flow of the prose a complimentary contrast. The tracks spanning 20 minutes total are jammed with high intensity shredded breaks, slamming gabber kicks and desperate screams fueled by the futile dreams demanded from living in a capitalist nightmare.

[DTRASH171] RUBBER MUFFIN - Duckcore
Cracked up Canuck RUBBER MUFFIN has already given us some great material in his DTRASH135 split with MEAT PARADE. He could have wasted away playing video games, but instead is compelled to create splatterbreakcore blitzing the dancefloor with tripped out sampling and gabber kicks, bringing good cheer.

[DTECH10] SCHIZOID - The Next Extreme

Finally. Head of Canadian cult-label D-TRASH Records, SCHIZOID returns with his 3rd full length of original material, a vicious album of blackened industrial noise metal. 16 songs, an hour long of decimating digital punk musick acts as the catalyst for riots, self-destruction, and achieving the next extremes of the updated SCHIZOID sound. Firmly rooted in digital hardcore/breakcore origins, yet driven by intense black/grind metal guitars & choruses of lunatic shrieks, sounding somewhere not unlike THE BERZERKER, MINISTRY, AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, ATARI TEENAGE RIOT, THORNS, RED HARVEST.

Order the CD here on the D-TRASH Records store.

SCHIZOID was interviewed recently about the disc by heavyweight USA mag DECIBEL and Canadian e-zine HELLBOUND.CA. Check out the press here.

[DTRASH170] CHIC GALA - Inside The Ember Palace

[DTRASH170] CHIC GALA - Inside The Ember Palace

CHIC GALA formed in 2009 after emerging out of Zathura. The band fuses electro pop with bitch punk and a slice of anti-heaven. They draw inspiration from the runway and the gutter: Everything that is super glossed over and shiny in the media juxtaposed with the dirty reality of modern life. Fashionably TRAGIC lyrics echo the dead end sentiment of fallen poets and are directed towards emotionally unstable teenage girls...

REVIEW: THE FIRST SEED "We Are.." Reviewed at ERRORISM

"D-Trash has been the go-to label for Digital Hardcore artists, arguably more influential than even Atari Teenage Riot's own Digital Hardcore Recordings. The First Seed is a newer group with heavy elements of breakcore, glitch, and noise. Free Prostitute strikes me as the "single" if there is one, with the rest of the album at varying levels of increased weirdness (not that Free Prostitute is particularly tame). I haven't heard anything else by the artist, but I'm liking what I'm hearing here a lot."

[DTRASH113.3] THE PHOERON - Subjective Variables

[DTRASH113.3] THE PHOERON - Subjective Variables
The conclusion to the 3 chapter DTRASH113.3 release, "Subjective Variables" sees fellow D-TRASHers SCHIZOID, PHALLUS UBER ALLES, HYPERDRIVER, NOT HALF and friends, taking their remix attacks at featured songs from the "Universal Equation" album. These tracks show a different side of THE PHOERON, more suited for sexing dance club rituals, than the previous disc's solitary mental malevolance rituals. The darkness of ABSU continues to spread in 2012...

[DTRASH159] THE FIRST SEED - We Are The Only Ones

[DTRASH159] THE FIRST SEED - We Are The Only Ones
Individuality is an illusion. We''re all willing minions to the corruption subtly veiled in deceit as the elite lead the masses using greed and consumerism to perpetuate the illusion of freedom while we succumb to their riches'' shackles. "We Are The Only Ones" is an exploration of 21rst century frustration with all encompassing conformity, failing governments and monetary systems as general complacency continues to allow our lives to be dictated by the almighty dollar. From impossibly fast computer drum shredding accompanied by gut wrenching screams to rap infused punk dub step this album is dynamic, abrasive and straight from the heart of The First Seed.
